The Zuckerman Museum of Art is a museum in Atlanta, Georgia. The building was built over 100 years ago as a Jewish synagogue and used for this purpose until 1982. It was purchased by an art dealer who donated the building to the Telfair Museum of Arts in 1997; it reopened its doors in 1999 after extensive renovations were completed. It is now home to Telfair's pre-20th century collection of fine arts.

The Zuckerman Museum has a permanent collection of European paintings, decorative arts, sculpture, drawings, prints, rare books, and photographs, including works by Rodin and Whistler. There are also rotating exhibits on modern art. Upon entering the museum, visitors find themselves in the foyer surrounded by gorgeous works of art.

On the lower level is an elegant, wood-paneled room that was once used as a social hall for weddings, galas, and other events; now it showcases early American decorative arts. The walls are paneled with wood imported from China, and on display are furnishings, rare manuscripts, weapons, porcelain, and silver.

The center of the room is dominated by a stunning Steinway Baby Grand Piano. The museum also boasts an exquisite Chinese garden, complete with a koi pond and walkways. In addition, the Zuckerman Museum hosts lectures, concerts, book signings, and educational events for children as well as adults.

The Zuckerman Museum of Art is a fascinating place to visit and should be included on any tour of Atlanta, Georgia. It is a center for excellence at the university and provides visitors with an opportunity to explore art created by our predecessors as well as those currently practicing their craft.
